Great Resource

Frontline, PBS’s flagship public affairs series, has 170 of its films posted online where anyone can watch for free.  This is a terrific resource for teachers to use in the classroom or to recommend to students when they are doing research on a hot-button issue.  Their documentaries are timely and thorough, and they feature expert testimonies that bring depth to each piece.  I really enjoyed the documentary on Wikileaks and Chelsea Manning, and I am almost finished with their study of the NSA and the history of “the program.”  The Secret State of North Korea is also fascinating as it features rare footage inside the isolated, socialist state.  Frontline also has a “teacher center” on their site with links to lesson plans, discussion questions, and classroom activities.
